What a Glorious Day That Will Be Lyrics

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a Glorious Day that will Be
This evening I got a bit frustrated with the changes that suddenly happened (again) while I was trying to edit on my wordpress blog. They have developed a new format, and there must be some glitches that have been happening; it’s very discouraging for me because I’m so NOT tech savvy, and tech changes are extra hard for me.

Anyway, this song popped into my head that I haven’t heard for a very long time, and I couldn’t remember all the words. It is such a comforting song about that glorious day when we will see Jesus, so I decided to share the best YouTube version I could find. This one is sung a cappella, but the harmony and the words are so beautiful and peaceful, and the bass singer is really good! The pictures are really beautiful, as well! I hope you enjoy this like I did.

Peace!

“What a Day that will Be” by: Jim Hill

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus:
What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There’ll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no more pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus:
What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a Glorious Day That Will Be Hymn Story

“What a glorious day that will be” is a hymn that was written by Jim Hill in the 1950s. Jim Hill says he wrote this hymn after visiting a gravely ill mother-in-law.

As he drove back home, he began to question why God was allowing his mother-in-law to suffer like this. As he wondered about this the words of Rev. 21:4 came to his mind.

This verse says, “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.”

He said it was at this time that this song came flooding in his mind. He then wrote it on a cardboard paper. And what a song it was!

It talks about the day our Lord and savior Jesus Christ will come back to earth to take us home. To a home where there will be no sickness or suffering.

Jim Hill says that the first person he sang this song to was that gravely ill grandmother.
