Only Trust Him Lyrics, Story, and Video

Only Trust Him Lyrics

1 Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
There’s mercy with the Lord;
And He will surely give you rest,
By trusting in His word.
Only trust Him, only trust Him,
Only trust Him now;

Refrain:
He will save you, He will save you,
He will save you now.

2 For Jesus shed His precious blood
Rich blessings to bestow;
Plunge now into the crimson flood
That washes white as snow.
Come to Jesus, come to Jesus,
Come to Jesus now; [Refrain]

3 Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
That leads you into rest;
Believe in Him without delay,
And you are fully blest.
Don’t reject Him, don’t reject Him,
Don’t reject Him now; [Refrain]

4 Come then and join this holy band,
And on to glory go,
To dwell in that celestial land,
Where joys immortal flow.
I will trust Him, I will trust Him,
I will trust Him now; [Refrain]

Only Trust Him Hymn Story

“Only Trust Him” is a hymn that was written in 1874 by John H Stockton. This song is an appeal to the sinner to find mercy with the Lord.

And it says the sinner can do this by trusting him to save them. It calls them to come to Jesus who is the truth, and the way. The song implores the sinner to not reject the savior.

John H Stockton was born in 1813 in the United States. He was a Methodist minister who not only preached but was also a musician and composer of hymns.

Most of his songs were composed after he retired from pastoral work due to ill health. He helped in compiling and publishing hymn books.

He died on 25th March 1877 in Philadelphia. He had just attended a Sunday morning service when he died suddenly.
